Cocomelon | Moonbug Entertainment

Picture
Tasks:
- Layout
- Lighting & Rendering

My day-to-day role at Cocomelon was to illustrate digital scenes. I posed 3D characters and designing layouts, lighting & rendering them to tell heartwarming, visual stories and vignettes from the lives of JJ and his friends. These images were used in social media posts, special events and holidays, toy/product licensing, and various marketing applications, contributing to the expansion of the brand presence of Cocomelon.

As the first departmental hire, I created and maintained project folder templates, set file naming conventions, and scripted Python tools in Autodesk Maya to service specific pipeline needs for our department. Specifically, the tools simplified the process of Maya's light linking & unlinking, importing standardized light rigs and creating and naming new project directories on the server for each new project, with the option for automatically setting the Maya workspace directory. This resulted in these areas of the pipeline becoming simplified, allowing our team to become more and more efficient and allow for speedier workflow processes.

Tasks:
- Modeling
-Texturing

I created the models of the stylized ocean characters for this real-time puppeting project in Unreal Engine, led by creative directors Ryan Sias and Jeff Dates. I textured and modeled the shark and the seahorse based on 2D designs provided by Ryan Sias. Additionally I modeled the open and closed mouth versions of both of them to serve as blendshapes to aid in animation.
